How to make a Corretto

Corretto @ The Java Cafe

How to make a Corretto? Well....

Espresso Corretto is the Italian equivalent of a "corrected" espresso. "Corrected" with a splash of grappa or brandy that is. Taking this a step further, you will find other versions of "corrected" espresso in our coffee recipes listing.

Steps for making a Corretto:

1. Get hold of some dark roasted espresso beans. Oily-looking is the choice bean here. Use the darkest of the espresso coffee beans. Traditional Italian Style! Looking for dark roasted or espresso beans?

2. You want to grind these espresso beans until they are very fine.

3. Pack the grinds into the group (handle) of the espresso machine.

4. Place a your cup/s under the group. Turn on your espresso machine. You should see a hazel brown crema appear at the surface of the coffee when its finished.

5. Add a splash of grappa or brandy.

Now all you have to do is enjoy your Espresso Corretto!!!

P.S. If you live outside of Italian, I do not recommend this as your morning coffee....
